Dental Care
Routine dental care is very important for your horse’s overall health. It is recommended that your horse has a dental exam semiannually to annually. In most cases, dental floats should be performed annually to eliminate sharp enamel points. Our veterinarians at Escatawpa Animal Clinic recommend your horse having a dental exam one to two times a year. In most cases, dental floats can be performed annually to eliminate sharp enamel points. Early corrections of abnormalities like retained deciduous teeth (caps), uneven wear, sharp edges and points will prevent future problems of mastication (chewing) nutrition and performance.
