Boarding
At Escatawpa Animal Clinic, our top priority is keeping your furry, family members happy, healthy, and safe while you are away from home. When your pets stay with us, you are boarding them with the full services of a veterinary hospital, along with qualified veterinarians and a pet healthcare team on board.
We take special care to create a space that is like a home away from home, complete with individualized attention and tender loving care. At Escatawpa Animal Clinic, we make every effort to ensure that your pet’s needs are met. You can choose to have services such as a bath, or a medical procedure done during their stay, and we will make sure it happens.
We offer separate climate-controlled quarters for dogs and cats to help minimize stress and anxiety. We purposely house dogs and cats in different wards to ensure that cats are able to have a peaceful, calming stay away from noisy pets that may be staying with us. For kitties, we have large 3 ft by 2.5 ft kennels as well as smaller 2 ft by 2.5 ft kennels for smaller cats. Each guest is given a soft blanket or towel to rest on, a litter box, and water at all times. For our nervous guests, we can provide a blanket covered stool for them to hide under. Half of the kennels in our cat ward are equipped with a perching area.
Our canine residents are offered a few different accommodations to choose from. We have 2 ft by 2.5 ft cages, suitable for smaller dogs; 4 ft by 2.5 ft kennels for medium sized dogs, and 3 ft by 6 ft runs for large/extra large dogs. We have the facilities to house only 5 large dogs at a time, so we recommend that pet parents call in advance to make a reservation for their large pet. All kennels are indoors, and each guest is provided with blankets and water at all times.
Canine guests are walked at least three times a day, morning, afternoon, and evening. We walk them with double leashes for their protection. For their safety, all pets are exercised individually. At Escatawpa Animal Clinic, we believe that each pet deserves the privilege of taking their walk in peace and comfort.
We furnish everything needed to make your pet’s stay comfortable, however you may bring your pet’s blankets, treats, and toys for their stay with us. For the pet’s safety, we do not allow pets to have toys in their kennels while unattended.
We feed our guests Hill’s Science Diet. We encourage clients to bring their own food in labeled bags if their pet has a sensitive stomach or requires a specific diet. In the event that a guest eats canned or fresh food, we have a refrigerator to store their food items during their stay. Our staff monitors the appetite and urination/bowel movements of each boarded pet, and our veterinarian will be alerted if any problems are noted. Patients who are boarding and require medications will receive their meds as prescribed.
We require all of our feline and canine guests to be current on ALL vaccinations. Our canine guests must have a current Dalpp, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccine. Our feline guests must be current on their FIV/FELUK and Rabies vaccine. We require all guests to be free of parasites upon arrival. If we notice that a pet has parasites, we will administer anti-parasitic medication at the cost of the owner.
Our service area includes Moss Point, Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, and everywhere in between.
